The Warford Mortuary was founded in 1962 by Charles E. and Wilma Warford and is the oldest continuously operated African American business in Amarillo. We have proudly served the Texas Panhandle for over 50 years and look forward to continuing service in the years to come. Our caring Funeral Directors provide specialized services locally and throughout the state of Texas. We proudly have a reputation for, “A name you can trust and dignified service you can depend on”. Richard A. Walker joined Warford Mortuary in 1972. In the early 1990’s the businesses' name was changed to Warford-Walker Mortuary to reflect the growing partnership between Charles E. Warford and Richard A. Walker and their commitment to the future.
Since 2014, Warford-Walker Mortuary has been owned and operated by the Warford Mortuary Company, LLC and will continue the legacy established by Charles E. Warford.
Mr. Charles Emmett Warford passed July 19, 2017 and was funeralized July 27, 2017.
